• Ferries – Established in 2003, Freightlink is one of Europe’s largest, whole of market freight ferry agencies. We have achieved this through a complementary focus of delivering digitalisation and impeccable customer service.
• Customs - CustomsLink our newest business was created in response to post Brexit border complexities and takes a fresh approach to an old established business by digitalising the processes.

Main purpose of job

To develop new business flows through out Freight forwarding operation, through European road haulage, deep sea container logistics, and air freight. To develop client relationship, through operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Freight Management

• Oversee and coordinate complex shipments across road, sea, and air freight
• Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and monitoring of multimodal transport solutions
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize routing and carrier selection
• Entry of customer orders with accuracy and in a timely manner
• Utilise Qargo software to ensure efficiencies
• Negotiating best prices from suppliers
• Ensure best practice for freight forwarders
• Ensure communications with internal teams adhering to all OLA

Road Haulage (Domestic & European)

• Manage high-volume and time-critical road freight across the UK and EU
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, customs, and border procedures
• Build and maintain strong relationships with hauliers and subcontractors

Deep Sea Container Operations

• Handle FCL and LCL shipments, including vessel bookings, port coordination, and customs clearance
• Resolve issues related to demurrage, detention, and container tracking
• Liaise with shipping lines and overseas agents to ensure smooth cargo flow

Air Freight

• Manage urgent and high-value air shipments with precision and speed
• Ensure compliance with IATA regulations and security protocols
• Negotiate competitive rates with airlines and consolidators

Client & Commercial Leadership

• Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, offering tailored logistics solutions
• Support business development by identifying upselling opportunities and contributing to tenders
• Represent the company in client meetings and industry events
• Bring in new business (as per agreed targets) 

Team Support & Mentorship

• Provide guidance and training to junior freight forwarders
• Share best practices and support continuous improvement across the team
• Step in as a team lead when required during peak periods or absences

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all shipments meet legal, regulatory, and client-specific requirements
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of customs and transport documentation
